Our Ontario therapists support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, pregnancy and postpartum concerns, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. We also work with clients who may not have a specific diagnosis but know that something in their life needs attention, support, or change.

Therapy at Everest is warm, collaborative, and practical. We provide a non-judgmental space where you can speak honestly, better understand what you are experiencing, and develop strategies that fit your actual life. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Accessible Virtual Therapy Across Ontario

Finding the right therapist can be particularly difficult when you live outside a major urban centre, have a busy schedule, experience mobility or transportation barriers, or need a therapist with a specific area of expertise. Online counselling makes it possible to access mental health support without commuting, arranging transportation, or limiting your search to professionals located nearby.

Everest Therapeutics offers virtual counselling throughout Ontario, including:

  • Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area

  • Ottawa and Eastern Ontario

  • Mississauga, Brampton, and Oakville

  • Hamilton, Burlington, and Niagara

  • London and Southwestern Ontario

  • Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph

  • Kingston and surrounding communities

  • Windsor and Essex County

  • Barrie and Central Ontario

  • Sudbury, North Bay, and Northern Ontario

  • Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario

  • Rural and remote Ontario communities

Regardless of where you live in the province, online therapy gives you the opportunity to choose a therapist based on their personality, approach, availability, and areas of experience—not simply their postal code.

What We Can Support You With

People begin counselling for many different reasons. You may be navigating a recent crisis or loss, struggling with something that has been present for years, or noticing that your usual coping strategies are no longer working.

Our online therapists in Ontario provide support for concerns including:

Anxiety and Overthinking

Anxiety can show up as persistent worry, racing thoughts, panic attacks, physical tension, irritability, difficulty sleeping, avoidance, or feeling as though your mind never turns off. Counselling can help you understand your anxiety, recognize the patterns maintaining it, and build strategies for feeling safer and more grounded.

ADHD and Neurodivergence

ADHD can affect far more than concentration. It may influence emotional regulation, motivation, organization, relationships, self-esteem, work, parenting, and everyday routines. Our therapists offer compassionate, neurodivergent-affirming support that recognizes your strengths while helping you develop tools that work with your brain.

Trauma and PTSD

Trauma can influence how you experience emotions, relationships, conflict, trust, safety, and your own body. You may experience intrusive memories, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, shame, avoidance, or difficulty feeling secure even when the immediate danger has passed. Trauma-informed counselling moves at your pace and focuses on creating safety, understanding, and greater choice.

Depression and Low Mood

Depression can make even ordinary responsibilities feel overwhelming. You may feel disconnected, exhausted, unmotivated, hopeless, irritable, or unlike yourself. Online counselling can provide a consistent and supportive place to explore what is happening and begin rebuilding connection, energy, and meaning.

Relationships and Couples Counselling

Relationship counselling can support couples experiencing communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust concerns, intimacy challenges, parenting stress, or major transitions. Couples do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Counselling can also help partners better understand each other and interrupt patterns that leave both people feeling unheard.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Mental Health

Pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and becoming a parent can bring complicated emotions alongside significant physical and relational changes. Our therapists provide compassionate support for perinatal anxiety, postpartum depression, identity changes, birth-related trauma, relationship strain, and the emotional demands of early parenthood.

Grief and Loss

Grief does not follow a predictable timeline. It may arise following a death, relationship ending, pregnancy loss, health diagnosis, change in identity, estrangement, relocation, or another significant transition. Counselling offers space to process the loss without pressure to move on or grieve in a particular way.

Stress, Burnout, and Life Transitions

Chronic stress can leave you emotionally and physically depleted. You may be managing workplace pressure, caregiving, parenting, school, changing relationships, relocation, health concerns, or competing responsibilities. Therapy can help you identify what is draining you, clarify your needs, strengthen boundaries, and develop more sustainable ways of coping.

Self-Esteem and Emotional Regulation

You may understand what you are feeling but still have difficulty managing the intensity of it. Counselling can help you notice emotional patterns, respond to yourself with greater compassion, and build practical skills for navigating rejection, conflict, shame, anger, and overwhelm.

Online Counselling for Adults, Couples, and Youth

Everest Therapeutics offers online counselling for adults, couples, and youth across Ontario.

Individual counselling provides a private space to explore your emotions, relationships, experiences, and goals. Sessions are adapted to your needs and may include emotional processing, practical strategies, skill-building, reflection, or a combination of approaches.

Online couples counselling allows partners to attend from the same location or, when appropriate, connect from different locations. Virtual sessions can be especially helpful for couples balancing work schedules, parenting responsibilities, travel, or distance.

Youth counselling provides young people with a supportive environment to explore anxiety, depression, school stress, relationships, identity, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and life transitions. Parent or caregiver involvement is considered according to the youth’s age, needs, consent, and the circumstances of treatment.

What Online Therapy Is Like

Online counselling takes place through a secure video platform. You can attend from your home, office, or another private location within Ontario using a computer, tablet, or phone with a reliable internet connection.

Virtual therapy offers the same opportunity for meaningful conversation, reflection, skill-building, and connection as in-person counselling. Many clients find that attending from a familiar environment makes it easier to fit therapy into their schedules and feel comfortable during sessions.

Before your appointment, choose a quiet and private space where you are unlikely to be interrupted. Headphones may help provide additional privacy. Your therapist will explain the process, discuss confidentiality, and help you become comfortable with the online format.

Our Approach to Counselling

We believe therapy should feel human. Our approach is compassionate, collaborative, down-to-earth, and grounded in real life.

You will not be expected to arrive with the right words or a perfectly defined goal. Your therapist will work with you to understand what has been happening, what feels difficult, and what you hope might become different.

Depending on your needs and your therapist’s training, counselling may draw from approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy skills, trauma-informed therapy, attachment-based work, solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused approaches, mindfulness, and practical coping strategies.

Therapy is adapted to the individual. What works for one person may not work for another, and your experiences, identity, culture, relationships, strengths, and preferences all matter.

Flexible and Accessible Counselling Options

We understand that attending therapy must be realistic within your life. Our Ontario therapists offer a range of scheduling options, which may include daytime, lunchtime, evening, and weekend appointments.

Sliding-scale counselling may also be available with select therapists. Availability varies, so please contact us if cost is a barrier or if you would like help finding the most appropriate option.

Many extended health-benefit plans provide coverage for counselling delivered by registered professionals. Coverage varies between policies, so we recommend checking the professional designation covered by your individual plan. Receipts are provided for insurance purposes, and direct billing may be available for eligible clients and plans.

Is Online Counselling Right for You?

Virtual counselling may be a good option if you:

  • Prefer receiving therapy from home

  • Live in a rural or remote Ontario community

  • Have limited access to local mental health services

  • Want a therapist with a particular specialization

  • Have transportation, mobility, childcare, or scheduling barriers

  • Feel more comfortable communicating from a familiar environment

  • Need evening, weekend, or flexible appointment options

  • Travel within Ontario or frequently move between Ontario communities

Online counselling may not be appropriate for every situation, particularly when someone requires immediate crisis intervention or a higher level of care. Your therapist will discuss whether virtual counselling is suitable for your needs and help identify additional resources when necessary.
