Bilingual Counsellor in Moncton, New Brunswick

Jessica Gallant is a bilingual counsellor providing therapy in English and French in Moncton, New Brunswick. She supports youth aged 12 and older, young adults and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, self-esteem, identity exploration and significant life transitions.

Jessica has an extensive professional background supporting individuals affected by sexual violence, intimate partner violence and other traumatic experiences. Before becoming a counsellor, she worked in victim services, crisis intervention and community-based advocacy. She currently manages a sexual violence centre, where she has provided individual support and crisis intervention to survivors and accompanied individuals through difficult experiences involving hospitals, police and the court system.

Her experience has given her a deep understanding of how trauma can affect a person’s emotions, relationships, body, identity and sense of safety. Jessica recognizes that people respond to trauma in different ways and that healing does not follow one predictable timeline. She offers a compassionate, non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their experiences without pressure to disclose more than they are ready to share.

Jessica also works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, body image concerns and low self-esteem. She helps clients better understand their emotions and patterns, strengthen coping skills and reconnect with their needs, values and personal strengths. Her approach is collaborative and adapted to each person’s goals, comfort level and lived experience.

Jessica is passionate about providing LGBTQ+ affirming counselling in Moncton. She welcomes clients exploring sexuality, gender, identity, relationships, belonging and the impact of discrimination or social expectations. Her goal is to create a counselling relationship in which LGBTQ+ clients feel respected, understood and free to discuss their experiences without having to educate or defend who they are.

Jessica also offers neurodivergent-affirming counselling for clients with ADHD and autism. Drawing on both professional knowledge and her own lived experience with ADHD, she understands that neurodivergence can influence emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationships, body image, sensory needs and everyday functioning. Jessica helps clients better understand their individual needs and strengths without treating neurodivergence as something that must be corrected. She works collaboratively with clients to explore practical, realistic strategies that respect how their minds work.

Jessica particularly enjoys working with teenagers, young adults and people moving through periods of change. This may include changes involving school, work, relationships, identity, independence, family dynamics or the transition into adulthood. She understands that these stages can bring uncertainty, pressure and questions about who someone is becoming. Jessica helps clients approach these changes with greater self-understanding, confidence and emotional support.

Jessica holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, as well as a degree in Family Studies and Criminology from Université de Moncton and a diploma in Family and Community Services from Oulton College. Her additional training includes Counselling Survivors of Sexual Violence, Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention and advanced counselling skills.

Whether you are looking for trauma counselling, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, youth counselling or support with anxiety, body image, self-esteem or a major life transition, Jessica offers a warm and inclusive place to begin.

Jessica provides bilingual counselling in English and French at Everest Therapeutics in Moncton, New Brunswick.
